Helping Adult Amateurs, First-Time Horse Owners, and Riders Build Confidence

With over a decade of riding experience and a background as a classroom teacher, I bring both horsemanship and thoughtful instruction to every lesson and training session. My riding journey began as a working student in Aurora, Colorado, where I gained hands-on experience with a wide variety of horses. From off-track Thoroughbreds and Bureau of Land Management Mustangs to Warmbloods and other sport horse breeds, working with such a diverse range of horses taught me to adapt, listen, and approach each horse as an individual.

Today, through Leigh Farms Collective, I provide horse training, riding instruction, lease opportunities, and horse sales guidance for riders throughout Evergreen, Conifer, Morrison, Golden, and the greater Denver foothills. I enjoy working with adult amateurs, first-time horse owners, returning riders, and those seeking a practical, horse-first approach to learning.

My training philosophy is rooted in strong foundational horsemanship, clear communication, and trust. I believe the best partnerships are built when horses and riders learn to understand one another through consistent, fair, and effective communication. Many of the concepts I teach are inspired by the way horses naturally interact within a herd environment, helping riders develop a deeper understanding of their horse's behavior and responses.

Much like teaching in the classroom, I believe meaningful progress happens when concepts are broken down into manageable steps, expectations are clear, and both horse and rider are given the time they need to learn. My goal is to help riders build confidence, develop practical skills, and create lasting partnerships with their horses through thoughtful instruction and individualized support.
